statement sweater: animals and more

With fall in full swing it’s time to expand your sweater collection. And what better place to start than with a statement sweater. I’ll feature a few different styles { three to be exact } in the statement sweater department. The first being intarsia, which might conjure up cozy images of hot-apple-cider-being-sipped-fireside-in-a-cabin. Well, these throwback knit tops with the graphics woven into the sweater—in the past usually snowflakes or some type of kitschy wildlife—are bank in a big way!

1. Markus Lupfer – Smacker lips sweater
2. Jil Sander – Whale intarsia camel and wool-blend sweater
3. C Wonder – Bunny Hop intarsia sweater
4. J. Crew – French Hen sweater
5. Joie – Eloise intarsia sweater

TGIF! xx

OK, well, not quite yet. But, it is already September and I can’t believe how quickly this summer flew by. With the last long weekend of l’été behind us (did y’all have a good one?) we can start to look forward to a beautiful autumn!

it’s october, time to get cozy

Well that was a nice sleep in! (oops, no i didn’t just wake up just posted late) I suppose it’s necessary when you arrive home and the Saturday paper is waiting at your door! After dancing the night away with the ladies at The Hoxton, while Der and the boys spent the night playing ping-pong at Spin Toronto, we met up for some late night nachos at the Thompson Diner, delish!

October has arrived and it’s a beautiful sunny – BUT CHILLY – day. Time to get cozy!!

spain + i think it’s fall

¡Hola amigos! I have just returned from 11 glorious days in Spain (Madrid, Vejer de La Frontera, Gaucin & Marbella) feeling refreshed/tired, inspired and suffering from just a little PVD (post vacation depression). I donned a slight tan, cute Spanish dress and bangles, as I stepped outside to head to work today only to realize I didn’t get the memo – it’s fall! Everywhere I looked there were tights, pants, sweaters and the new transitional staple; the blazer. Every third woman I spied was wearing it  – gray or black, rolled three quarters etc… It makes perfect sense for a smooth progression into the cooler weather. However, I am not ready to store-the-sandals and bring-out-the-boots just yet I will tell you that! Well perhaps give me a day or two to shed my Spanish skin; I do love the autumn wardrobe. As I reminisce about the trip (with lots more to come) I want to give a shout out to our gracious hosts at Finca La Santera. A beautiful villa situated near Gaucin. We can’t wait to see our new friends again soon sometime in London or back in the Andalucían countryside! Spanish inspiration pics to follow next post, for now its fall wardrobe!
