statement sweater: all is fair

There’s a new cool kid in town. Fair Isle sweaters may have been an ‘ugly Christmas sweater‘ thing of the past but now, when done right, are super comfy, cozy, and cute for the cooler season. Bundle up, it’s getting chilly out there!!

statement sweater: animals and more

With fall in full swing it’s time to expand your sweater collection. And what better place to start than with a statement sweater. I’ll feature a few different styles { three to be exact } in the statement sweater department. The first being intarsia, which might conjure up cozy images of hot-apple-cider-being-sipped-fireside-in-a-cabin. Well, these throwback knit tops with the graphics woven into the sweater—in the past usually snowflakes or some type of kitschy wildlife—are bank in a big way!

1. Markus Lupfer – Smacker lips sweater
2. Jil Sander – Whale intarsia camel and wool-blend sweater
3. C Wonder – Bunny Hop intarsia sweater
4. J. Crew – French Hen sweater
5. Joie – Eloise intarsia sweater

tunes & lasagna

With family in town for my long weekend { why not take Monday off?? } we were busy and had a lot of fun! The boys ran the Scotia Bank 1/2 marathon, we ate good food, relaxed, and went for lots of long walks…  Today was for groceries { we’ve started actually making lists and planning meals for the week – unreal } and then I got to making my famous roasted veggie meat lasagna. Delish! A glass of red wine, Saint-Germain des-Pres Cafe Vol. 7 in the air, and cooking in a cozy kitchen. Not a bad way to spend a windy Monday afternoon.

Joie de vivre

Joie always remains one of my favorite brands. Pieces that are casual – but can be dressed up – classic, and comfy. I was recently on their site checking out their new fall items and I was falling in love with most of them! Especially those day dreaming flats. You might not want to pass up the huntley tote, ranana dress, or adoni fur vest either! I love the definition of the Joie girl too;

Our Joie girl loves her Sundays—flea markets, champagne brunches, morning hikes, gallery exhibits—and being chic and relaxed in Joie the whole time.

Eep, how totally perfect! It looks like I’ll just be day-dreaming about those shoes for now ; )

sweater weather

OK, well, not quite yet. But, it is already September and I can’t believe how quickly this summer flew by. With the last long weekend of l’été behind us (did y’all have a good one?) we can start to look forward to a beautiful autumn!

get a clu

Laid-back and comfy (and making sweats look sexy!) Clu offers youthfulness & style in a collection that’s difficult to resist

“Clu is a Los Angeles based brand founded in 2004. The name is derived from the French word clou which means nail, a simple and graphic object. Its concept began with a reinterpretation of the t-shirt, a symbol of the American style that represents freedom and youth. Clu offers soft, sculptural, often reconstructed looks with everyday versatility and timeless chic.”

the good stuff

I’ve got Fiest on the brain (after last nights concert)… could she be any cuter!! But I had this video all queued up, and ready to go, so she will have to wait until next week. Something about this video makes me want to don an oversized sweater and cozy up!

happy weekends to all!! xx
